I skipped Wednesday, I know, but I grossly underestimated how exhausted I’d be after a day and a half of babysitting a set of 3 year old triplets LOL. My niece and nephews are visiting for a few days and even though I’m tired, I’m enjoying every moment!
Today’s post is my God Daughter’s baptism in September 2013. I have detailed supply lists so if you have questions, please ask. I made 90 handmade invitations, 30 topiary centerpieces, 10 paper cross centerpieces, and 75 favor tags.
I hand cut each invitation and vellum piece with the party information printed on it. Embossed the white cardstock with varying embossing plates.
The paper carnations are ordered from Silk Flowers Factory and hot glued in place because I did not want them moving while in the envelope. The pearl accents on the collar are individually placed with Inkssentials White Enamel.
The silk flowers on the Styrofoam ball are from Dollar Tree. I traveled to every Dollar Tree in a 20 mile radius to find this box full. Each topiary required 13 individual flower blossoms and there are 5 blossoms per bouquet for $1. I also purchased the Styrofoam pot inserts from Dollar Tree and cut them down for the perfect fit. I hot glued everything with a high temp gun.
I completely forgot to take a picture in my craft room before the venue. These crosses are created with a sturdy white pre-embossed cardstock from The Paper Studio Blanc Boutique Pearl Finish pack. There are 10 different embossed designs in each pack. I hand cut 2 shapes to make one cross. Tucked inside is purple tissue paper and a small rice bag tying down 3 white pearl balloons. I’m kicking myself for not having taken a before picture 😦
The party favors are oober cute cross key-chains from Wrap With Us. I threw them in a basket and printed out the sign to frame it. This was posted at the exit so everyone could grab one as they left the event. Each tag had my God Daughter’s name, the event date, and thanking the recipient for joining us on such a special day.
Here you can see why we chose to do a small topiary, because the majority of the tables are small round club tables with four stools per table. The topiary doesn’t take needed tabletop space. They’re a small accent to what is already going on in a busy room. Not seen in these photos are the 4 large flat screens looping 30 pictures of my God Daughter from birth to today.
On the opposite side of the room are lounge seating with acrylic light tables. Yes, the tables lit up and slowly transitioned into different colors. To accent this open space we chose the cross and balloons.
I truly hope you enjoyed this post. The baptism reception was a success and out of 30 topiary centerpieces I only retrieved 10 at the end of the night LOL. I hope they’re being beautifully displayed on someone’s mantle or desk ❤ it was pain staking to complete this project, but as always the result is incredibly satisfying.
